This 6-week (3 hours/week) module provides in-depth coverage of selected electrochemical methods relevant to the characterization of materials, energy storage systems and electrochemical sensors. Students learn about methods suitable for the study of the electrode/electrolyte interface and intensify and expand their knowledge of the fundamentals of charge and mass transfer in electrochemical systems. Throughout the course, examples of the application of principles and techniques to the characterization of materials/systems are highlighted. (1.5 credit units)
