First Nations, Métis and Inuit Peoples: Understanding Traditional Teachings, Histories, Current Issues and Cultures, Specialist-the third part of a three-part suite of FNMI studies courses-will give candidates the opportunity to explore more deeply specific education-related topics that interest them. The goals of this course are to prepare candidates to - review, revise, and rewrite existing curriculum in order to reflect FNMI worldviews, philosophy and pedagogy - design, develop, and deliver new FNMI integrated curriculum that is respectful and authentic - work with other teachers, administrators, and partners in a collaborative leadership role - support and empower FNMI students and colleagues in the work of reconciliation - appropriately partner with FNMI organizations to advocate for necessary changes in both curriculum and systems where necessary
