Change leaders worldwide have used leading change toward sustainability to guide their internal global warming and organizational sustainability change initiatives. In this course, candidates will discover how to learn to lead and create a school-wide approach to sustainability. In addition, the course examines establishing a culture of green teams with students, teachers, and staff by developing short-term and long-term goals to create an action plan that includes educational awareness and involves the whole school community and beyond. In this course, candidates will understand how to create a sustainable school by driving action and leading change. This includes creating a school-wide (or district-wide) approach to sustainability while advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In addition, in this course, in-depth environmental audits to discover how green their (or a) school is in energy, waste, water, school grounds, and transportation will be explored and investigated.
