This unique course will introduce educators to blending Visual Arts and Mathematics in elementary and secondary classes. The course will explore a variety of resources and learning approaches to teaching Mathematics and Visual Arts together. Personalized learning and assessment and evaluation strategies will be discussed and examined. Educators will investigate and build cross-curricular opportunities for their students to spark curiosity and creativity. Candidates will critically explore global competencies and cross-curricular/interdisciplinary integration of teaching Mathematics with Visual Arts. Ongoing connections will be made to support student well-being and learning needs through hands-on activities and technology-integrated tasks. To consolidate learning, candidates will critically design a project that combines Visual Arts and Mathematics to enhance the student learning experience, including a plan for personal growth and development.
