In this course, teachers will learn about culturally appropriate and respectful approaches to communicating and interacting with ELL students. They will explore strategies for teaching the cultural nuances that go along with English language learning in Canada. They will develop a philosophy of teaching and learning in an intercultural setting, and learn to employ strategies and tools that support authentic culturally respectful learning. Finally, they will create a resource hub that focuses on the cultural aspects of teaching and learning English language skills, and they will demonstrate their understanding of intercultural competence and facilitating cultural diversity.
