This course will provide candidates with an in-depth analysis and application of leadership in the BC education sectors from data analysis and evaluation lens. Data provides a lens through which successful education leaders gain objective insights to inform planning, identify changes in practices, make knowledgeable decisions, and foster a culture that shares accountability for achieving organization improvement goals. Through collaborative inquiry and understanding qualitative and quantitative data, influential leaders will nurture a purpose-driven data mindset amongst all stakeholders to analyze the facts and figures and paint a candid picture of the organization's strengths, needs, and obstacles. Impactful education leaders understand that cultivating an inquiry habit of mind with others allows data to be utilized as an avenue for unlimited growth and possibilities. This, in turn, empowers educators to pinpoint professional learning needs, identify resource requirements, engage in collaborative problem-solving, and reaffirm their commitment to innovative practices that improve student achievement, equity, and well-being. The course will conclude with candidates' opportunity to share data and evaluate an educational leadership plans findings while providing mitigation for educational leadership challenges.
