Teaching through inquiry is the processing of developing a challenging situation in which students are asked to observe and ask questions. This form of teaching is meant to spark the natural curiosity of children leading to a heightened interest in the material and a prolonged motivation to learn. Through a structured inquiry students are lead through a process where they are allowed to ask questions, and then find out how and where to find the answers to them. Teaching through Inquiry allows candidates to build upon the basic foundations that they may learned about inquiry-based instructions, so that they are able to successfully implement inquiry instruction, are able to adequately assess any inquiry projects that they develop, and support colleagues who are looking to introduce inquiry instruction into their classrooms.
