Building on the introduction to the curriculum and pedagogy for teaching Social Science, Candidates further their understanding of the current Ontario Curriculum for Social Sciences through a detailed analysis of the provincial curriculum and its delivery models in Ontario Secondary Schools. This includes an examination of the program planning considerations highlighted by the Social Science curriculum and the integration of Social Science course / course content in Ministry of Education approved programs, such as the Specialist High Skills Major model and Interdisciplinary Studies. A deeper application of instructional design principles through the development of unit plans and semester plans is a key focus for this course.
