Fundamental physical and algorithmic concepts of quantum computing are covered in this course. Topics include the basic principles of quantum mechanics, entanglement, superposition, qubits as the units of quantum information, qubit structures and working principle, quantum gates, circuits, quantum error correction and an introduction to basic algorithms for quantum computation. Examples of scientific and engineering problems that can be addressed using quantum computers will be discussed. NOT OFFERED 2025-2026 (Lec: 3, Lab: 0, Tut: 0.5)
