This four-week, online, distance-learning and intensive English language course is designed for Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science (FEAS) students who have not passed the FEAS EPT (English Proficiency Test) after several attempts. The course will run annually each summer starting the summer of 2017. This course will include nine hours per week of "lecture-equivalent" materials and students will be expected to spend twenty hours per week completing course content and related assignments. Assignments will be graded and marks will appear on student transcripts. Particular emphasis will be put on enhancing students' communicative competence in listening and writing while developing vocabulary, sentence structure, spelling, and note-taking skills. Participants focus on the writing process including drafting and editing. Topics and themes from FEAS course materials, similar to those encountered on the EPT, will be included in this online course.
