This is a film studies course focused on the Road Movie genre, envisioned as reflecting the essential elements of cinema: motion and storytelling (the quest). Starting from its pre-history (from the Western to Film Noir, to films focusing on the Great Depression) to modern and finally contemporary iterations of the genre, this course will use the road movie to further explore film analysis and film criticism.
