This design studio course teaches the basics of design thinking in a learn-by-doing environment. Methods for needfinding, brainstorming, prototyping, and validating product decisions are explored. Specifically, working on small interdisciplinary teams, students will complete design thinking exercises to identify potential solutions and craft low fidelity prototypes. Students will learn about personas and customer journey maps, and apply this knowledge to create the discovery hypothesis. Concepts of lean management will also be covered through introduction of the minimum viable product (MVP) framework.
