The goal of the Analytics elective is to introduce MIB students to foundational analytics concepts and techniques used in practice, as well as the issues relevant to analytics in a global business context. Leveraging analytics process frameworks such as CRISP-DM, students will learn how to translate a business problem into a data and analytics problem, acquire and understand the data, pre-process that data, and then train, test, and evaluate models to address the business problem and make data-driven decisions. Relevant laws and regulations that vary across countries, such as anti-discrimination laws and data privacy regulations, will also be discussed.
