This course explores pain conditions with their underlying mechanisms and will review the basic neuroscience of pain. Anatomical, physiological, psychological and biochemical mechanisms involved in nociception are presented. Theoretical models underpinning our understanding of these mechanisms in the biopsychosocial context will be explored.
