An intensive study of the Planning Act of Ontario including a close examination of the evolution of the Act, its purposes and its interpretation by the courts. The Act is considered for its effectiveness in providing a legal basis for controlling the use of land as a means of achieving community planning goals. Comparative approaches are also considered as a means of identifying inadequacies in Ontario law.
