The objective of this course is to provide students with a general understanding of finance. We will work on the time value of money, learn how investors think about the value of streams of cash flows, conduct financial statements analysis and explore how they can be used to make sound financial decisions. We will explore the investment choice criteria and the process to make good capital investment choice decisions. We will consider what may be the most fundamental question facing investors and financial economists alike when we study risk. We will consider what it means for an investment to be risky, and examine methods of valuing risky assets.
