Examines the central importance of visual imagery in contemporary media, culture and everyday life. Draws connections between historical/contemporary explanations of ‘the visual,’ and how texts and technologies reflect the context and cultural values of the environments that produce them, and the challenges for regulation. Includes: Experiential Learning Activity Prerequisite(s): third year standing in Communication and Media Studies or permission of the School of Journalism and Communication.
