An introduction to the use of and insights gained from both laboratory- and field-type experimental methods in economic research. Topics include analysis of individual rationality, performance of markets, and design of economic systems. In-class experiments are an integral part of the course. Prerequisite(s): ECON 3020 (or equivalent) with a grade of C- or higher and ECON 3210 (or equivalent) with a grade of C- or higher. Lectures three hours a week. [0.5 credits]
