This seminar examines recent theoretical and empirical developments in borders and border control. Topics to be considered include biometric controls, digital borders, and border walls. Resistance to these border controls, in the form of anti-deportation campaigns, Indigenous contestations of settler state borders, and sanctuary cities, will also be featured.
