This course examines political processes at the city-region level, exploring patterns of conflict and collaboration among governmental and community-based actors attempting to formulate solutions to complex 21st century urban problems. Students learn about major policy issues facing cities, and work in small groups to examine urban politics and governance in one or more selected locales. Course may involve a field trip/learning excursion either locally or to a nearby US city.
