This course continues the IPPE sequence and is a structured introductory pharmacy practice experience in the community pharmacy under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist preceptor. Through 12 weekly longitudinal site visits, the student provides direct patient care and reflects upon the professional activities. The student gains introductory competence in the values, attitudes, knowledge and skills of a pharmacist in the community setting. Offered: Fall and spring semesters. Prerequisites: PHAR 606, HIPAA training; blood-borne pathogens training; Basic Life Support certification; and a valid Pharmacists Intern License from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy throughout the course Credit 1. 1 Other Hour.
