This course introduces students to the history & present of the global Black World(s) encompassing Africa & its diasporas. It explores the racial ideologies that shaped Blackness, & looks to its political, cultural, social, & religious expressions. Students discuss Black movements, diversity, & anti-black politics. They learn to look at lived realities of blackness through an intersectional lens. GE foundation race, ethnicity and gender div course.
