This course is designed to introduce students to the role of the consumer in health markets. We will focus on topics including healthcare providers and markets in the United States and abroad, health insurance systems in the United States and abroad, racial/ethnic, geographic, and socioeconomic health inequality, pandemics, and the development of health technologies like vaccines. Prereq: ConSci 2910, and Econ 2001.01 or 2001.02 or 2001.03, and Stat 1350 or 1430 or 1450; or permission of instructor.
