This course discusses the history of Afro-Germans in Europe & internationally. Conversations and questions thematized pertain to identity formation and erasure; systemic racism; Westernization; xenophobia; and eugenics. German 3317H provides students with the support to identify intersecting social influences & factors that inform (and often reinforce) the categories of race, gender, & ethnicity.
