This course is designed to provide a foundation to prepare future nutrition professionals for dietetic coursework in the MDN major, including nutrition assessment and medical nutrition therapy. This class focuses on the critical aspects of chemical structure, digestion, metabolism, and physiological function and dietary significance of the major energy yielding substances. This course is designed for students applying to the Master of Dietetics and Nutrition program. Prereq: Chem 1210 and 1220; and Biology 1101 or 1113; and HumnNtr 2310; or permission of instructor.
