Institutional Learning Outcomes: Students apply theories learned in microbiology, biochemistry, and molecular biology in a hands-on laboratory environment. Emphasis is placed on gaining a deeper understanding of microbial physiology and ecology, and harnessing the diversity of the microbial world to produce value-added products. Students are involved in all aspects of the scientific process including designing experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and preparing formal written reports.
