Institutional Learning Outcomes: Intercultural Awareness Students with little or no knowledge of Chinese (Mandarin) develop cultural competence and communicative skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in modern Chinese to an entry level A1 proficiency. Students learn to recognize and respect the value of diverse cultures and worldviews and develop and apply intercultural communication skills. Prerequisite Note: Students who have completed Chinese (Mandarin) in Grade 11 or equivalent within the last two years may not take this course for credit unless approved by the Modern Languages Coordinator.
