This course introduces diverse perspectives and concepts of child and youth wellbeing and development as a basis for praxis with children, and families. The course explores Indigenous perspectives of children's health, development and wellbeing that focus on holism and Western theories that focus on different domains of development. The course focusses on critical thinking about child health and educational equity and the relevancy of different perspectives to the health, development and wellbeing of diverse child populations. Prerequisites: Admission to the ECED, HUMS or CEACS programs or instructor permission. Note: Students will only receive credit for one of PSYC 2130 and CYCA 2400.
