Institutional Learning Outcomes: Intercultural Awareness A strong, reciprocal and respectful relationship between families and educators is a critical component of quality early childhood education programs. The impact of personal experiences on professional interactions are examined within the context of understanding diverse family structures and contemporary issues. Interpersonal communication strategies for building relationships, problem –solving, and conflict resolution with families are explored, and a variety of strategies to share information with families are reviewed.
