Institutional Learning Outcomes: Intercultural Awareness This introductory course presents an overview of high and low incidence designations, diverse learning needs within the classroom, and relevant Special Education Ministry of Education requirements. Teacher candidates learn about evidence-based classroom strategies, assessments, assistive technology, proactive classroom behaviors, and social emotional learning. Teacher candidates develop their skills as inclusive educators by recognizing the value of Indigenous perspectives and pedagogies as well as safe, anti-racist, and socially just learning spaces. Prerequisite: Admission to the TRU Bachelor of Education Elementary program
