This introductory course presents an overview of instructional and assessment strategies as it relates to promoting and learning of a second language. Teacher candidates learn about proficiency based instruction and the meaning of language competence. They create and teach lessons using French or Secwepemctsin. Teacher candidates develop their skills in assessment for learning, as learning, and of learning as it applies in a language classroom. They also learn about technology based resources, activities, and project available for the language classroom. Prerequisite: Admission to the TRU Bachelor of Education Elementary program.
