Institutional Learning Outcomes: This course deals with basic woodworking theory, techniques and procedures; including safety, hand tool processes, power tool processes, and procedures involving stationary power equipment. The materials and fundamental techniques used in wood products manufacturing are introduced. Special emphasis is on the hands-on skills and safety procedures required to teach a course using power equipment. Students complete exercises, assignments and projects suitable to junior level secondary grades. Students with a directly related trade qualification are not permitted to take this course for credit.
