This course explores the economic principles and practices related to wildfires, including prevention, mitigation, suppression, and recovery. Students will analyze the economic (both market and nonmarket) impacts of wildfires and develop skills to evaluate the effectiveness of different management strategies. Decision making using the economics of wildfire management is from the social perspective and includes environmental impacts, many of which are nonmarket.
