This practical course offers students the opportunity to acquire personal care and assistance skills within the parameters of the HCA role. The course comprises class and supervised laboratory experiences, which assist the student to integrate theory from other courses to develop caregiver skills that maintain and promote the comfort, safety, and independence of clients in community and facility contexts. Prerequisite: Admission to the Health Care Assistant program Corequisite: HEAL 1000, HEAL 1010, HEAL 1050, HEAL 1100, HEAL 1200 and HEAL 1350 (must be taken at the same time as HEAL 1150). Note: Students will only receive credit for one of HLTH 1155 and HEAL 1150.
