Students examine significant script-to-play-to-film adaptations that engage human rights and social justice, by probing creative expressions of social justice issues on stage and screen in a variety of forms, from conventional to avantgarde. Students analyze texts using tools drawn from creative writing, theatre studies, media studies, as well as critical and adaptation theories. Students create their own stage play or screenplay that promotes change on a social justice issue. Prerequisites: Admission into the MA HRSJ program.
