Institutional Learning Outcomes: Knowledge Students examine globalization and the steps managers take to establish or expand their operations in international markets. Students explore the influence of forces such as culture, economics, politics and geography on management decision making. Topics include the business and economic impact of globalization; the economic, geographical, social, cultural, political, and legal influences on global business; international business opportunities and modes of entry; the risks associated with global business; human resource needs for international operations; financing international ventures; international marketing issues, including customer benefits, promotions, pricing, product or service branding and targeting strategies; international production and distribution; and planning an international business venture. Prerequisites: There are no prerequisites for the course, but ECON 1951 or equivalent with a minimum C, MKTG 2431 or equivalent with a minimum C are recommended. Note: Students cannot get credit for more than one of IBUS 3510, IBUS 3511.
