Institutional Learning Outcomes: Students use a digital camera as a reporting tool to reveal events and tell a story about newsworthy subjects that impact society in significant ways. Students develop a practical and working knowledge of digital camera equipment as they work with journalistic photo composition and the advanced processing of digital photos through Photoshop. Students discuss legal requirements and ethical behavior of responsible photojournalism and explore the photojournalistic image as a distinct form of representation according to leading theorists.
