Topics include congruence and modular arithmetic, complex numbers, De Moivre's Theorem, rings and ring homomorphisms, integral domains and fields, polynomial arithmetic, reducibility and irreducibility, and congruence in the ring of polynomials. Prerequisites: MATH 1220 (min. grade C) or MATH 1700 (min. grade C) or MATH 1701 (min. grade C) and MATH 1240 (min. grade C) or MATH 1241 (min. grade C)
