This course is designed to explore leadership and professionalism in nursing from a systems-level and organizational perspective. Students are encouraged to build on their foundational knowledge of nursing leadership and critically analyze the health care system and organizations within it. Students explore how nurses lead, influence, create, and manage change for the promotion of health. The role of the nurse as leader within the current and evolving Canadian health care system is explored. Students analyze organizational and systemic issues that nurses face, with an intent towards influencing change. Prerequisite: NURS 3380; NURS 4740, HLSC 4650 and NURS 4380 (must be taken concurrently)
