Students examine how the post-Cold War era of globalization is undergoing profound changes. Students study how some of these changes include the world economy, the way nations are governed, how people and nations deal with each other, and the growing roles of international and local non-governmental organizations. Students gain an understanding of the ways conflict is changing, how some conflict never seems to change, and how to think of conflict not solely as violence and war between nations. Students also examine how contemporary conflict has become far more widespread and how new forms of conflict personally affect our lives. Prerequisite: 6 credits of POLI courses
