Students examine the application of basic behavioral principles to the analysis and modification of human behavior. They are introduced to methods for measuring and recording behavior, functional assessments, and major behavioral treatment techniques, with a focus on the principles underlying each technique. Students learn how to integrate these techniques to design and implement behavioral modification programs, as well as strategies to generalize and maintain behavioral changes over time. They also explore the behavioral approaches to psychotherapy. Prerequisites: PSYC 1110 (min. grade D) and PSYC 1210 (min. grade D) and completion of 45 credits or permission of the instructor.
