Students explore the psychological processes underlying language acquisition, comprehension, production, and use. They investigate the cognitive and neural mechanisms of language, the development of linguistic abilities, bilingualism, language disorders, and the relationship between language and thought. Students will engage with the various methods used by psycholinguists to examine how language is processed in the brain and its role in communication and social interaction. Prerequisite: PSYC 1110 and PSYC 1210 and completion of 45 credits or written consent of the instructor. Note: Students will only receive credit for one of PSYC 3360 and 3361.
