Students explore the psychological processes underlying language acquisition, comprehension, production, and use. They investigate the cognitive and neural mechanisms of language, the development of linguistic abilities, bilingualism, language disorders, and the relationship between language and thought. Students will engage with the various methods used by psycholinguists to examine how language is processed in the brain and its role in communication and social interaction. Recommended Prerequisites: PSYC 1111 and PSYC 1211 and completion of 45 credits or written consent of the instructor Note: Students will only receive credit for one of PSYC 3360 and PSYC 3361
