Institutional Learning Outcomes: Communication Students engage in high impact practice as they are introduced to a range of materials, objects, techniques, and ideas fundamental to three dimensional aspects of visual art. Students learn about equipment and safe working procedures of the Visual Arts carpentry workshop in an experiential, practice-based studio setting. Students are connected with the world of contemporary art through lectures and seminars, reflecting upon, discussing and critiquing students' projects in relation to the history and contemporary practice of visual artists. Students may have opportunities to exhibit their artwork in TRU's Art Gallery or other locations. Students are expected to work independently in the Visual Arts studios outside class time towards the completion of their course work.
