This introductory course in printmaking emphasizes the basic processes of relief and intaglio printing. Students consider a variety of mediums such as linocut, woodcut, collograph and metal plate printing. Students explore printmaking as an artistic practice in contemporary art, and advance their understanding of how current approaches relate to relief and intaglio prints of the Western European masters.
