Electronic desktop publishing is fast becoming a function of the business environment. There are a variety of programs that are available and that vary in sophistication. With desktop publishing programs anybody can create professional documents, such as cards, posters, advertisements, newsletters, logos, brochures, and booklets. This course provides an opportunity for students to explore the field of desktop publishing, not only in the production of basic business documentation but also in the production of documentation for the World Wide Web. Although students may not be at an expert level upon completion of this course, students develop a strong foundation of skills upon which to build in desktop publishing. Prerequisite: YMCR 5030 or knowledge of computer file management.
