This lower liberal studies course provides an introduction to the economic development of Europe from ancient times until the 'First Era of Globalization' in the late 19th century with emphasis on the economic causes of the American, French and Industrial revolutions. The course then analyzes the effects on the world economy of the Russian Revolution and the Great Depression. Finally, some more recent economic development issues in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East are examined.Weekly
