This upper level liberal studies course studies the ethics of economic relationships. Students become familiar with some of the principal theories of ethics and justice, and will use them to study such questions as the equitable distribution of income and wealth in a market economy, inheritance and the transmission of wealth, the structure of taxation, redistributive programs to alleviate poverty, preferences based on race and ethnicity, immigration policy and environmental sustainability.Weekly
