This course examines r isks that arise from global threats posed by various natural and human-made hazards. From a Canadian perspective, it sets out to provide an understanding of how their potential for harm to the individual and community is perceived by the public. Mechanisms that have been developed to reduce the levels of threat to life and property are assessed. This is accomplished by examining selected geophysical, biological, climatic, environmental and malevolent factors that impinge on well-being.Weekly
