This course provides an introduction to industry organizations and professional designations and the steps required to obtain designation as a Certified Technician in Ontario. Topics to be covered include an introduction to legal forms of businesses, occupational health and safety, and other workplace and business legislation. An in-depth review of health and safety topics, including the current Ministry of Labour Statutes and Regulations, hazardous materials, hazardous chemicals, material safety data sheets, the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System and health and safety planning will also be provided.
